Ketchup.

On May 30th in 1993, there was a bit of a thread on moshing to
     Tori.

In 1994, there was a parody to Icicle titled "Bicycle": "Keep
it oiled well, Keep it oiled well."

In 2000, the penis enlargemet spam page. It's so much bigger
now. And we all know ... it's gotta be big, boy, it's gotta be
     big.

  [ =======================>  In RDT History  <======================= ]

On May 31st in 1992, Anthony announces RDT archives are up and
     available.

In 1993, a member wants to know if "Cool On Your Island" is any
good. [Personal note: when Tori played this at one of the
Oakland shows last tour, I cried all the way through.
     Surprisingly poignant.]

In 1994, a parody of "Tear In Your Hand" ("Smear On Your
     Hand"):

            All the cars are
            All I am
The black of the blackest oil can
And that smear on your hand
All the cars are rattelin', rattelin', rattelin' for me
            Darlin'

In 1995, a member asked the question, "What Tori songs have
made you cry and why?" Still a good question, so ... ?

  [ =======================>  In RDT History  <======================= ]

On June 1st in 1995, people were talking about which Tori songs
are most likely to make them cry.

In 2001, people were discussing the way RDT operates. (A
member explained that it involves using bunnies and rhesus
monkeys because that method is a hell of a lot easier than the
one which uses gerbils and a large funnel.)

  [ =======================>  In RDT History  <======================= ]

On June 2nd in 1993, someone asked the prescient question:

"We kNOW tHAT tORI iS iNTO nIn
             wOULD tRENT bE iNTO tORI?"

In 1994, revelations from someone who went to high school with
Tori. Among other things, he shared:

"If you have ever seen her on Letterman or Leno/Carson,
you'd notice she's kinda spacy... she was like that in HS
          too, but very very nice."

Of coarse Tori (that goes without saying) but right now I'm into Duncan
Sheik. He had that one popular pop song (Barely Breathing) but the rest of
his music is much better. It's very eclectic and poetic. I love it. I
have every album of his (I just got his most recent the weekend before last)
and I can say that there is not one song that I don't like. Everyone I have
had listen to it has liked it. Y'all (my texan accent is showing) should
try it and see if you like it.. Alot of his music has orchestra
incorporated in it. My favorite song is "Varying Degrees of Con-Artistry"
It's very kewl. You can go to his website www.duncansheik.com (I would
include a link if I knew how to do that, sorry) and check it out. He
actually posts to his own message board and answers questions from fans.
Also very kewl! Not to mention the man is hot!!! And I mean HOT!!! At
least in my book. He is sooooooo my type. Lemme know if anyone checks it
out and they like it. I love turning people on to unknown good music.

N-E-Wayz, I'd better get back to work.

Matt said: "Well I'm struggling to wrap this up properly, but what I
wanted to do was ask the other questions raised by the issue. In any
case, I won't be signing the petition."
I THINK I signed it once before.. but I scanned the list for my
name and it wasn't there.. I don't like sending email petitions to
MULTIPLE people because then a whole load of inaccurate forms comes back
anyway. However, Matt also makes a very good point. I say.. the two kids
who killed James should be let out to enjoy a normal life.. BUT they
can't just go back. They need counseling of some sort.. parole of some
sort.. they just can't go back free to do anything they damn well please,
you know. *shrug* that's just what *I* think, though. Other than
that--counseling and parole--I do agree with Matt that they should
continue their lives normally, under new identities, and so on.. and
should give back to the community as much as possible. I just hope
they're sorry for what they did by now.

Matt: hope you had fun! :)

Coops said: "Has anyone ever had a dream where they've woken up, then
actually woke up to find that they dreamt they woke up?"
I have a feeling that most people have. I have once.. it was
yearrrrrs ago. I don't even remember the dream itself in detail, so I
couldn't tell ya, but I do remember waking up in a dream.. lol..

Coops then said: "I'm not king of the world. I'm just a humble sex god."
and a good one you are, at that! (not that I would know, but hey,
word of mouth gets around. :D)

Ade said in reply to my new discussion.. "i don't really listen
specifically to any real artists except tori, but i have really eclectic
tastes in music."
shoot, I dunno if I've mentioned my faves yet.. if I have, then
sorry.. but here they are again. not including Tori (cuz we all know
she's a fave of mine or else I wouldn't even be on this list, RIGHT??)..
my list of favorite musicians: Michael Jackson, Green Day, Madonna, Kid
Rock, Marilyn Manson, and Nine Inch Nails.. and I can't forget the
Beatles.. no way.. nope! my mom raised us kids on 'em.. can't forget
'em.. but they're not still a band so I only named the groups that are
still out and about and doing their thing. :D

Ade then told me that Megan (our favorite succubus barbie) was the one
who gave that quote about a deferred dream exploding vs shriveling up..
THANKS! :) Megan.. I agree with you--*ALL* the way! by golly, if I'm
gonna lose a dream, it better piss in every one of its' wreckers' boots
first.. *then* explode!

Gabriela raised a few more questions involving James B's killers.. wasn't
there something in the Bible about Cain and Abel? Cain killed Abel and
then feared that he would be killed for that very reason, so God put a
mark on him so that everybody else would leave him alone.. now.. well..
if we could do the same for the two murderers.. make everybody know who
they are--and yet keep them protected as well as do everything else as I
mentioned above.. (this is coming to me just now and I'm not gonna change
what I said.. it'd still be good for 'em tho, what I said.. but this is
another idea.) then.. they'd still have to face the shame of being
murderers.. and yet other than that, would still hopefully lead ordinary
lives, provided they had good protection to keep them from being killed
themselves. What do you guys think?

our favorite Succubus Barbie said: "'Twas I who wrote it, young Cyndi!
Twas I! ....Late at night...when I was insane...as usual."
sweeeeeet. :D I like that quote. I already mentioned I agreed
with you but I really like that quote!

Linda said: "there are tons and tons of mini sand dollars on the beach.
i've never seen anything like it. and in New Jersey, of all places."
did you know that if you break one open (provided that it's dead
first, of COURSE.. and dried out.. I don't believe in taking a nice live
sand dollar and doing this) you'll find five sorta-v-shaped little pieces
in there? VERY kewl if you ask me. I learned this one time at um..
vacation Bible School one year.. ages ago.. and they likened it to
Christ's five wounds that he received on the cross.. (hands, feet,
thigh--or crown of thorns, I dunno which qualifies as he was already
dead--I believe--when they stabbed his thigh..) so that was kinda
interesting.

I'm reading Jewel's poems.. I just read "I asked him to crawl".. VERY
nice. :) *reads on*.... "once a princess" is good too.. I'm not big on
picking apart poetry other than like "this is good" or "this is good but
could use a little more work" or "I didn't like it.".. and I hate dishing
out criticism without at least some praise to go along with it. after
all.. *sings* a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the
medicine go down, the medicine go down.. *dances around* Anyway.. "James"
is a sweet one. I like! :D I like the layout of your poetry, Jewel..
making the titles stand out within the poetry itself instead of titling
it unless it needs to be named and you can't do it without doing that..
very nice. :) *still reading* good stuff! VERY good stuff!

Dani, your stories of being a teacher are, as usual, hilarious! rofl!

Dani said: "I have somehow managed to create law-abiding citizens, when
all I meant to do was embarrass the poor fuckers."
well.. lol.. you killed two birds with one stone then! good job!

that's all from me for now! YAY! I'm tired from my trip to Six Flags with
my bro and his wife.. we spent four hours there and most of that time was
spent walking TO the rides and waiting to get ON the rides. Bummer.. but
the new Superman ride ROCKED ASS!!!! it RULED!! anybody in the Georgia
(US of course) area.. nearby Atlanta.. GO RIDE IT!!! it was *SO FUN!*

Hola mes amies,

Today in Kennywood, which is this amusement park I've gone to for the past 8
years now, the roof of a ride called The Whip collapsed and killed an 8 year
old girl, as well as impaled some other children.

I'm getting very sick of all the tragedy. I think I'm going to go and swear
now very loudly...outside...at the moon.

That's all.

whew! and i was getting worried that i was going to have to apologize and

thankfully, cocknose himself bailed me out of humiliation, and then

was the wildebeest rampant or rabid? and you know what they say: even a 747

oh yeah?? i wonder why i had to pay all those noise violation fines, then.

Replying to Winterlion's survey (the others were too
long-- I don't have that kind of attention span right
now):

 1. I think beavers work too hard. -- beavers? Which
kind are we talking about?? Well, either way, I'll
vote, "yeah, probably". Depends on whose it is.
 2. I use shoe polish to excess. -- false. In high
school when I was a stage manager for the school
plays, though, I definitely used it to excess. And
rarely on shoes.
 3. God is love. -- true, at least in my beliefs
 4. I like mannish children. -- no?
 5. I have always been diturbed by the sight of
Lincoln's ears. -- no, but he was very spindley
looking.... otherwise, he was one of the few men that
I'd call "handsome"
 6. I always let people get ahead of me at swimming
pools. -- yes
 7. Most of the time I go to sleep without saying
goodbye. -- NO! never! That's such a mistake.
 8. I am not afraid of picking up door knobs. --
picking them up? I guess not... I used to be afraid of
touching them, but not because of germs like a typical
person with OCD. When I was a kid (and it still
happens occasionally), I thought they possessed
special powers. Like, if you turned them wrong, or at
the improper time, you wouldn't open the door to your
intended room, but to an identical room in an
alternate universe. I read too much scifi as a child.
 9. I believe I smell as good as most people. -- sure,
mostly
10. Frantic screams make me nervous. -- yes, unless
I'm on a roller coaster, in which case, the more, the
better
11. It's hard for me to say the right thing when I
find myself in a room full of mice. -- I'm in rooms
full of mice waaaaay too often, so no, not in the
least.
12. I would never tell my nickname in a crisis. -- I
think I use my nickname more often then my real name.
I've introduced myself as "Gyne" a number of times,
and sometimes guys will say, "Oh, that's pretty." To
which I'll answer, "Yes, it's short for vagina."
13. A wide necktie is a sign of disease. -- definitely
14. As a child I was deprived of licorice. -- I never
had it around. But I don't like it, so...
15. I would never shake hands with a gardener. -- I
definitely would. Dirty dirty, but in a good way.
:-)
16. My eyes are always cold. -- eww, no!
17. Cousins are not to be trusted. -- I don't trust my
cousins, but I wouldn't generalize.
18. When I look down from a high spot, I want to spit.
-- true. I also feel like jumping. One of my main
crazinesses.
19. I am never startled by a fish. -- false. Get a
150 lb shark on a boat, and tell me that you're not
startled. (I use that example to deflect the fact
that I've been startled by coy fish in backyard ponds
on more than one occasion.)
20. I have never gone to pieces over the weekend. --
ohhhhhh false.

That was fun. Hehe.

On to other things.......
I have this belief that prison should be about
rehabilitation/resocialization (while and after
serving a sentence for _____ long-- 3 years for some,
15 for others-- whatever is needed to get the job
done). I understand the need for revenge, and if it
were *my* child, I'd want those little motherfuckers
to rot to death in prison. To have forever and a day
to think about what they'd done, and how they took my
life along with my child's. But, the justice system
is not all about satisfying emotional outcries and
bereft mommies (I feel like I should add
"unfortunately" at the end of that). So the next best
option is rehabilitiation. If a prisoner is not
capable of being resocialized, they should (obviously)
be kept in prison, or, if some changes were made in
the system, placed in a psychiatric institution.

Speaking of which, I just love [sarcasm] how people
claim that institutionalizing criminals is letting
them off easy. The places where criminals go are
*not* a free vacation, by any means.

*random jumps to another topics ahead*

Dani, I wish I could be in your class. Even if just
for a day. Too funny. :-)

Okay, okay, so I actually have a *date*, people. I
never never go on dates. I generally just screw
around with friends of friends (or the friends
themselves), so there's no need for them to take me
out. BUT, I hunted down someone that I haven't seen
in over a year (he graduated and moved away), but who
I had a crush on when he was around. And I think he
liked me-- we were (read: I was) just in the wrong
place at that point. Blah blah blah. So anyway, I
IMed him last night (I got his screenname from a
mutual friend), and *he* was the one who suggested
that we get together. "Hi, it's Linda, Dan's friend
from Rutgers" "Linda?? tall blonde Linda???"
Yippee!!! So yeah, that's my newest news. :-) Very
happy. He's such a sweet guy.

I think that's all for now. I'm going to attempt
beaching it again. It was pleasant when it was foggy
there, but I'm really hoping to get some sun this
time. I'm sick of my brother calling me Casper.

Much love,
~Linda~

Anyway, since you asked, I had a wonderful time -- a 48 hour holiday
in someone else's house and head and music.

In a couple of days I'll talk -- a very little, because it's too early
-- about the music, when it's sunk in a little more.

Apart from driving around (or sitting in a parked car) listening
to music (and to the first chapter of the Coraline CD) we did a number
of extremely sensible things, including buying our daughters
Daphne-and-Scooby Doo Barbies, trying to figure out the best wall on which
to hang this painting[1], eating sushi, sitting on the beach talking about
copy protection for CDs (a bad thing, we decided, for a number of reasons)
the difference between the Country and the Land and the pros and cons of
keeping a weblog like this one, and, later, watching a lightning storm
from the end of a dock. Good wines were drunk, although we never were.

Then it was this morning and we were on our way to the airport, and on the
road she sang me a song called "Snow Cherries From France" which hasn't
been recorded yet and isn't on the new album but has to be recorded and go
and live somewhere, because it's truly lovely.

And then I came home. The Daphne and Scooby Doo Barbie was, you'll
be happy to know, an enormous hit.

Okay, so we all know Tori appeared on that Trial By Jury show..
so.. two questions.. one: in that episode, was Tori in it quite a bit, or
just for maybe five minutes, or what? and two: does anybody have a copy
of this, or have any idea where someone could take a look at it online
somewhere? let me know, please! :)

Well, I'm back. And I have a shit load of things to do computer wise thanks
to a certain someone viewing messages from strange people (that ~had~
attachments) resulting in us getting some virus (jseeker or something, have
to go read up on it), start.com.au are closing down so I have to sort out a
couple of freemail accounts and Netscape is fucking up on me (oh and how
appropriate that term is). Yes, people you think are computer savy sometimes
just aren't.

So I had a nice holiday which you will all hear about when I have things
under a little more control. :)
