OK, is it just me or that's incrediably cruel to use a guy with an album of
that title when she hasn't toured here in near on 8 years??? I bet it's as
close as she'll get to the darn place this tour too (my lame attempt at
reverse psychology: every other time I think "she has to come this time"
and she doesn't, so let's try this tactic now).
Ooh, animals and plastic surgery... One of my music teachers in high school
had plastic surgery for her nose when she was young (early teens I think)
because a horse bit her nose off. Yes, you read that right. As you can
imagine, boys in particular made a lot of that. But the surgeon asked what
sort of nose she wanted, and of course she was in agony and basically said
"I don't care, I just want a nose", so he decided to give her a 'movie star
nose'. What the frell do they look like? Apparently petite, button like
things. I have a feeling he didn't really compensate for a few more years
of growth for her face and body.

Yeah, I agree Madame Ade, I like meeting other Tori fans because a lot of
the times, the music a person listens to reflects who they are. Which
means, they must be a big thinker, kinda quirky, open minded, smart, etc.

Walking With Scarlet
Updated 00:23 PDT Thu, Sep 19 2002
On November 7, Tori Amos embarks on Scarlet's Walk, the headlining tour in
support of her Epic Records debut of the same name. Amos' longtime
collaborators Jon Evans and Matt Chamberlain will play bass and
drums/percussion, respectively, on the tour.
Young singer-songwriter Howie Day supports throughout the 27-date run of
theatre-size venues. Day had sold several thousand copies of his debut
album, Australia, through his Web site when Epic Records signed him and
re-released the disc.
Opening for Amos is a big deal. Her fans are particularly passionate, and
if someone is good enough to tour with Tori, well, they must be pretty darn
good. Rufus Wainwright filled the slot with aplomb on her last outing and
came away with loads of new fans.
It's been about a year since Amos' last tour, which supported Strange
Little Girls, an album of unique cover songs that marked the end of her
long relationship with Atlantic Records.
Her upcoming disc, Scarlet's Walk, is "a sonic novel in which each song
represents a specific stop on the way across America. The central figure on
the album is Scarlet, a woman who crisscrosses the country in search of
answers, in search of herself."

Tori Amos Enacts Walk Across America
Thursday September 19, 2002 @ 05:30 PM
By: ChartAttack.com Staff
Has it been awhile since you've had a good old fashioned emotional purge?
Well, get ready to release ó Tori Amos may be coming to your town.
The red-haired piano-woman has announced an extensive North American tour
on her website. Although nothing has been confirmed just yet, it looks like
Amos will have three Canadian stops. Keep an eye out for announcements for
Montreal and Toronto shows in November and a December Vancouver show.
Amos will be pushing her upcoming album, Scarlet's Walk, which is to be
released by Epic Records on October 29. As we've previously reported,
Scarlet's Walk is another concept album for Amos. It's built around the
story of a journey across America where every song represents "a specific
stop on the way." Call it an auditory historic novel, if you will. Yeah,
yeah, we know it sounds pretty flaky, but that's all part of Tori Amos'
charm, right?
Right?
Anyway, singer-songwriter Howie Day will be supporting Amos on the tour
and, as usual, she'll be backed by bass player Jon Evans and Matt
Chamberlain. We'll let you know once more details (on sale dates, etc) are
announced.

Tori Amos embarks on tour to back new album
by Jon Zahlaway
SoundSpike News
Sep 19, 2002, 11:56 am PDT
Tori Amos releases her Epic Records debut in late October, and follows it
up with a North American tour that kicks off in early November.
Amos, who sings and plays the piano, will be backed by longtime
collaborators Jon Evans (bass) and Matt Chamberlain (drums), according to
Epic. Singer-songwriter Howie Day will open.
"Scarlet's Walk," Amos' latest album, hits stores on Oct. 29. The record is
her first for Epic, with whom she signed after leaving Atlantic Records
last year. Her new label describes "Scarlet's Walk" as "a sonic novel"
featuring a main character named Scarlet, "a woman who crisscrosses the
country in search of answers, in search of herself."
Amos self-produced the album, and recorded it in the same Cornwall, England
studio where she recorded several of her previous albums.
The record features the single, "A Sorta Fairytale," which recently
surfaced on radio. The track is streaming at Amos' official website.

Subject: Hey, Y'all
Hi! It's been a while since I posted last, I've just been lurking around.
I've been sick the past couple of weeks. Last week it was my migraines. I
get them really bad. I started going to the chiropractor and it seems to be
helping. At my first appointment, they did an EMG. I don't know what it
stands for but apparently, it detects the electric activity to the muscles
attached to the spine. Anyway, the left side of my neck apparently has no
electric activity. So I have to go in every other day for adjustments.
Luckily, my insurance is paying 80% because that shit is expensive. Right
now I have bronchitis. I had to miss two days of work this week w/o pay
because I have used all my PTO this year so far. It SUCKS! But what
SUCKS even more is that Tori isn't coming to Texas! I just can't believe
it. When I saw that e-mail, all I could think of is "But I have to get to
TEXAS" But I went to the dent: http://www.thedent.com/tourfaq02.html
and it gave me the hope that she'll come here down south on the second leg
of her North American Tour. I've been thinking of traveling to see her
though. My boyfriend said he'd go to the SF show with me. But I don't
know if I can wait that long. Anyone in Texas thinking of traveling to one
of the shows? I would really like to go - especially with another
toriphile. My boyfriend likes Tori, but not as much as me and he kinda
thinks I'm obsessed. Well, okay, maybe I am but so what. Everyone has got
to be a little crazy about some things. There is going to be another Tori
Amos MEET UP this next Tuesday. I want to go, but I am not going to drive
all the way to the other side of town and nobody shows up again. I was
really pissed last time. I drove an hour to get there and sat there for an
hour waiting for anybody. Nobody showed! SO RUDE!!! Anyway, On with the
replies:
About Tori getting Botox, I don't know. She has changed over the years
but... If she did, cool. If not, cool. I don't care what she does, she'll
always be a beautiful goddess who is the most talented person I have ever
seen and I would follow her anywhere. I adore her.
Thanks to woj for the info about the CD-ROM and Scarlett's Web *smooches*.
I would really like to get the vinyl that comes out Oct. 8th.
I also want to send thanks to Beth Winegarner for posting more from Neil. I
can't wait for the new album. I got shivers reading his thoughts on it.
Ade, I don't know any other toriphiles except for all my lovely friends on
this list. I bet it is so cool to meet someone who has that in common with
you. To me Tori is such a part of my life that if I met someone who loved
her as much as I did, I think I would instantly connect with them. I guess
that's how I feel about you guys.
Our Favorite Succubus Barbie Megan said : fucktards. I laughed so hard
when I read that! I have never heard that word before. I love it! Thanks
for making me laugh! Anyway, Good for you for telling that guy off! I
don't think you're being a pussy. Seriously! Trust is very important to
me as well, and once someone breaks that trust, watch out! But you can't
just hold a grudge, you've got to get your feelings out, let the person know
how you feel and get over it and get on with your life. You're right, if
Crystal did know about what he was saying to you, I think she would be
pissed too! I'm so proud of you!!! *hugs*
Anyway, I'd better get to work, I think this is the longest post I have ever
done. I'm usually kinda shy, but today, I guess I'm in a sharing mode. I
hope I didn't bore you guys to death. Thanks for listening!

Subject: dammit. touring. motherfucker.
ah, yes, it's touring time again, friends. I almost dread this, because then
I get to listen, ad nauseam, to all the dumbass fuckers compare notes about
how many times they've seen tori (it's particularly useful if you don't have
a job or a life), how many times they've met tori, how many times they've
hugged her, and complain about getting pushed around at a Meet and Greet by
people who arrived SO much later than them.
i'm rapidly getting sick of this bullshit and the whiny airy fairies who
bitch that they haven't gotten to look at Tori's nosehairs enough in the
last year. and then the whole ticketmaster thing, trying to get good seats,
which has always been a huge amount of stress for me (I'm thinking if Tori
really wanted to do her fans a favor, she wouldn't have Meet and Greets,
she'd go through something else other than Ticketmaster).
i'm so broke right now that I think John and I have agreed we're only going
to one show (the new york one, probably), but I'm really looking forward to
that. I would steer clear of the Camden show - the venue just really sucks.
I hate the Tweeter center. I saw her there in 99, and it was probably the
worst show of hers i've seen (and Camden isn't a particularly delightful
place to look at either).
the whole thing - just ugh. sorry, i had to vent, and i'd figure i'd do it
here. tori's a musician, you know? she writes songs and then plays them
live. that's really all there is to it.
