Subject: The Freakiest nightmare! O_o
Well...
In my nightmare it all started in my local cementery (Which by the way I
never visit!), I was lost and wondering around the childrens section (In
Latin America there is a section in every cementery where the put children's
tombstones, niches, etc). I was wondering around to find my way out, when I
saw a woman crying near a coffin. She was sad so I come and talk to her,
then I realizd that she was crying in fron of a coffin that was set on a
table and did not have covering; only a huge piece of see-through glass that
acted
as the top of it. In the coffin it was her daughter; she told me. And she
was
dressed with what it seemed to be a 1st communion dress. I talked to her for
a bit and then she removed the glass and she started combing her black hair.
Then she put the glass back and the little girls body stared scratching the
glass and hitting it like she was alive and asfixtiating. The lady told me
to calm down, not to be afraid; that it was only a normal reaction of the
body to
oxygen after a long time being trapped in the coffin. The body shiffered a
bit and then
started to get swollen...
While she was talking to herself, her husband appeared, she asked me if I
wanted to touch the death body and felt how smooth the skin was... I said no
thanks, becuase I had a skin allergy. Her husband told me that that was the
reason of the death of their child, and she said that it all started as an
allergy and doctors did wrong things and gave her the wrong medications and
led her to death. I said that I was terribly sorry for the lost of their
daughter. Her husband made an strange face and said : "Daugther?!!!!, We
only
had a 29 year old son!". and he show me a picture of a very handsome man,
and
then set me apart from her and told me that: Her wife had always wanted a
baby-girl, a daughter. And after their son died, she sent the body to get
momified and she asked his legs to be cutted almost to the knees and let his
hair grow and made him into the daughter she never had. And know she denied
ever having a 29 year old son and that she made a whole story of how her
daughter died when she was 8 after communion.
Then she removed the glass top again, but now the death body was the one of
a man dressed as a girl and with the legs cutted, and didn't look as a
little girl anymore. She took a piece of the death body's back and put it
into my mouth and said : Doesn' t it taste great?. I freaked out spit the
thing and run to a sort of garden, that looked like a greek coliseum. It was
getting dark, I looked at my shoes and when I looked up It was alredy dark.
That's where my Godmother appeared and ask me to help her and My Grandfather
to get out of the cementery because they were tired (they are in reality old
people)
and couldn' t walk anymore. They were wearing winter clothes and I had a
light t-shirt. She
told me that the Gestapo had entered the cementery and were looking for
prisoners, as we were running towards the exit, everything looked desertic;
I
felt the barrel of a gun in my neck, It was a gestapo officer that took me
and
my Godfather into a very old and strange bus that looked as if it was from
the 40s.
O_o
Doesn' t it sounds freaky?!
Tell me what you think!
See Ya :)

Subject: Update with me
11/7/02
1:38 pm
Hey Really Deep Thinkers, this is a little update about my life at the
moment.
Along with the limited addition album my brother got a poster and a
Scarlet's Stories disc. The Scarlet's Stories disc is an audio of Tori
talking about each song on the album. While she was explaining "Crazy" I
thought about David ("I'm Not In Love") guy so much. And I still do as I'm
listening to "Crazy" at this instant. But, something changed and I hope it
changes for the better. I saw him today and I didn't get that same
heart-throbbing-butterflies-in-stomach feeling. I really hope that it's for
good because then I won't have to think about him so much and I can finally
be over him.
You would not believe the bullshit that one of my "friends" said to me the
other day! That is just a load of fucking bullshit! So I've known this
girl named, Maria Valdes since freshman year (I'm a sophomore) and we used
to get together during last year and during the summer and just about every
day I've been asking her to get together with me. Some of the times she
says she can and then I wait for her and she never comes or she never calls
or she says she forgets or she says she ABSOLUTELY HAD to go somewhere so I
get stood up. Then one day I was just like, "Maria, when are we gonna get
together? Never? I mean, when?" And she said, "Well, see, I have a
boyfriend." And I said, "So?" And she said, "So I do stuff with him every
day after school. And on the weekends I hangout with my family." And then
I said disapointedly, "So, you don't have any time for friends?" And she
said, "At school. I see my friends in some classes and during lunch." And
I was so offended by that because I'm her friend and I only see her for 2
seconds when we pass each other in the hall...so she basically said that she
doesn't care if she never sees me again because she ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE
WITH HER BOYFRIEND ON WEEK DAYS AND WITH HER FAMILY ON WEEKENDS. That's
such bitchy bullshit! Whatever, I guess I'm done with her. Let's see, that
would be friend number hmm...like 15 or so that I've lost through betrayal.
I'm still have friendship problems...like always. So, the so called
"friendship" that I have with Jaime, Ali, and Patti (the people that I've
been sitting with at lunch) have been...somewhat ignoring me in a way. I
don't even think they like me very much either. I feel very uncomfortable
with them because they don't pay any attention to me...it's not like they
don't talk to me if I say something but they never talk to me. It's not
like I said a whole lot, but I've been trying to get into their
conversations but they don't really listen to me. So I've pretty much had
it with them. I'm pretty good friends with about 2 or so people in each of
my classes and I thought that would be better than what situation I was in
before with Jaime & her friends. So, now I'm going to be sitting with Maria
B. (not Maria Valdes) from my popular literature class...I really like her.
But sometimes she says that she has counseling on some of the times at
lunch...so on those days I just sit with whoever. I also have a new friend
named, Tia. She's pretty cool.
Wish me luck.

it's one thing I can truly own

A body, too
those extra pounds

I take the gains

Coops - streamofconsciousness :)
Megan posted about the fat baby comment. WTF? Babies should be fat... well,
not obese fat obviously, but a skinny baby would be freaky and scary. And
why should it be an issue at that age? Sheesh. You gotta live a little. Mind
you this is from someone who breeds them healthy (yeah, I had people try
telling me 8lb was big. What would they say to the mum I was talking to the
other day - hers was 12lb (and vaginal delivery!)).
Dreams - I've had (well, remembered) more dreams post-baby than pre-baby.
What is with that? I find it hard to believe that I'm not still over-tired
(my previous explaination for the pregnancy dream drought). Not that I can
remember any now other than in the vaguest of terms (like last nights was a
Goa'uld dream) since I'm trying to get my wits together to get up and feed
someone when I wake up these days. Not conducive to remember them long term.
Still haven't listened to SW properly. And I'll hopefully finally remember
to catch the video in the morning.
Still haven't got photos of Shaelea up yet (it does help if you remember to
scan them).
Speaking of feeding, better go attend to my littlest girl.

Well, I don't know if you will or not. If you've never seen a Michael Moore
film, you're in for a surprise. I saw the film last week, and it was
incredibly intrigueing. The film is different than his other films in its
format. His whole point is to question the gunbeliefs in this country--the
hypocracy of it all (and he's a registered member of the NRA and some of the
points he makes are very un-NRA like). There is a lot of satire going on, but
it's not all laughs. You should go see it.

Your mother was incredibly cruel to say that to you (especially since she said
it so casually). And I think you need to make that very clear to her. The
first step to accepting yourself for what you are is to be very clear and
direct with people. Don't ever let them think that they can say such things

I hate this whole culture of trying to lose weight for the sake of losing
weight. It rarely works to your advantage and it almost always fails. Be
healthy instead. I am considered overweight by medical and societal
standards. But in actuality, I'm a very healthy individual. I have very good
cholesteral. My blood pressure is perfect. I have a strong heart. And I
suffer none of the affects that our sugar addicted, drive-thru gorging public
does. I'm a very active individual with a very physical job. So does it
bother me that I carry an extra 20 pounds? No it doesn't. I have no cause for
concern, so I don't even think about it. I have very good friends who are
good to me and I'm good to them. I excell at what I do professionally and I
have many hobbies that keep me curious and busy. I know you Megan and I know
you enjoy these things as well. I know you have good friends, and you will
never want for them, and you excell at your writing. So what more do you

Really the only thing that concerns me about me is conditioning my body to be

my endurence levels. That's the only thing that concerns me about my body,
can I ski? :-)

Whispers to wails, Amos dazzles
By GINA VIVINETTO, Times Pop Music Critic
(c) St. Petersburg Times
published November 8, 2002
TAMPA -- Watching Tori Amos perform Thursday, it wasn't difficult imagining
her as the prodigy piano player she was growing up in Maryland. The
39-year-old walked onstage at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in a
light blue chiffon kimono over jeans and black boots, looking like a child
playing dress-up. A matching bow barrette held back one side of her hair.
It was the first stop of Amos' North American tour, and the house, which
holds almost 2,500, was nearly sold out. Amos's fans are die-hards,
applauding her before she sat at her grand piano. Amos began with an a
capella Wampum Prayer from Scarlet's Walk, her remarkable new concept
album. The disc is the narrative of the fictitious Scarlet trekking like a
modern day Jack Kerouac across America. Along the way, Scarlet re-examines
her faith -- in her country, herself and those around her.
The singer deals with the events of Sept. 11 on I Can't See New York,
narrated by a passenger on one of the fated planes that crashed into the
twin towers. Other tunes such as A Sorta Fairytale, which Amos performed
near her set's beginning, are less grim, though the song's needling, loopy
piano hints of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells -- better known as The
Exorcist theme.
Amos was accompanied by her long time bandmates -- "my brothers" -- bassist
Jon Evans and drummer Matt Chamberlain. The three play precisely together,
the men following Amos' leads and forays into dynamic vocal shenanigans,
not singing so much as simply making her voice heard. Amos is gifted with
the ability to convey candid emotions, through whispers, nuanced ahems and
cooing. Likely, Amos will follow those with gigantic vocal sweeps, gusts of
grandiose, sometimes guttural wails.
Amos' gyrations and hip swivels on the piano bench accompanied In the
Springtime of His Voodoo, which found the singer turning back and forth
between her grand piano and an electronic keyboard behind her. Evans'
pummeling bass line beefed up that number, which ended in Amos' crescendo
of bluesy growls.
Bliss began woozily enough, with programmed trip hop beats and gurgly
electronica noise. That song's bright chorus makes it a seesaw of emotion.
Amos finished the number with her eyes closed, fidgeting and shaking her
head, nearly barking the lyrics.
Hard core fans relished the obscure Take to the Sky on which Amos slapped
her piano for percussion and a deconstructed trip-hoppy version of Amos'
early hit Crucify. The vaudevillian sass of new tune Wednesday, with
Chamberlain rat-tat-tatting a two-step beat with brushes on his snare,
showed Amos' playful side.

As alter ego Scarlet, singer holds mirror to America on tour

CONCERT PREVIEW
Tori Amos. 7:30 p.m. Sunday. $38. Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta
Civic Center, 395 Piedmont Ave. 404-658-7159, www.ticketmaster.com.
"I think it's changed me in ways that sometimes I don't even know," says
Tori Amos. She's talking by phone about the impact of her daughter's birth
on her life and art.
It's an uncharacteristically direct statement from Amos, the reigning queen
of art-rock weirdness. Now 2 years old, Natashya LŪrien -- named after
LothlŪrien, the kingdom of the elves in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the
Rings" -- is more than just a physical presence on her famous mother's
current tour, which pulls into Atlanta on Sunday.
Amos says Natashya's arrival helped inform the raw sound and emotionality
of her new album, "Scarlet's Walk," released last week. The concept album
-- built around Amos' alter ego, "Scarlet," as she treks across America in
search of its soul, and her own -- isn't a dramatic departure from such
arty platinum-selling releases as 1992's "Little Earthquakes" and 1994's
"Under the Pink." But it's mellower, with more songs about love and resolve
than the rage and pain that have earned her a cult following.
Amos' first album of original songs since 1999's "To Venus and Back" -- and
since she left Atlantic for Epic Records -- "Scarlet's Walk" is a "sonic
novel" (Amos' description) partly inspired by the events of Sept. 11, 2001,
which the North Carolina native witnessed firsthand in New York. The music
marks a return to the spare piano-and-voice style that first made her famous.
In a typically baroque chat from New York -- where she spends much of her
time when not in the studio or at home in Cornwall, England, with her
husband, British sound engineer Mark Hawley -- Amos discussed the impact of
9/11, Natashya's birth and the new album.
AJC: Congrats on the birth of your daughter. How old is she now?
Amos: Thank you. She's 2 and she'll be touring with us.
AJC: How do you manage time with her on the road?
Amos: We have story time, it's really the center of our relationship. We
sit down together and make up things. Like we'll put our hands on a
radiator when we're in a cold room. And she'll say, 'Play a song for me,
Mommy.' So I put on the radio.
AJC: "Scarlet's Walk" seems a bit of a departure from the last few albums
you've made with a full band.
Amos: I was listening to the album last night at 3 in the morning.
Scarlet's Web [Amos' Web site, www.toriamos.com/scarletsweb] goes up today.
The CD becomes a key to get to the site, like the key in "The [Lion, the]
Witch and the Wardrobe." And the Web site opens up, like in Tolkien, with
maps and all the different writing forms I'm applying to it. So the journey
continues online.
The theme that I have for the tour is threads; that's my subtext. That's
what I'm working with the musicians. And each stop on the tour is
different, as I travel from Melbourne to Atlanta.
AJC: "Scarlet's Walk" has very little of the rage and anger in so many of
your other songs. Is that a conscious thing?
Amos: That's a conscious thing, yes. Scarlet's not angry, not in that way.
I think that she realizes there's a sinister force and power working
through the country, as every country has.
Angry is a fascinating term, because you're not really in a powerful
position when you're too angry, are you? You can't play chess when you're
really angry. But Scarlet's angry because of what she sees happening to
[America]. Maybe when we smelled her burning that day in New York and the
death of so many people, we saw her in a new way. And are our leaders
really protecting our true mother, now? This is the question she's asking.
AJC: You were in New York on Sept. 11?
Amos: Yes. I was in Midtown.
AJC: Was that a catalyst for "Scarlet's Walk"?
Amos: It was already in the works before that because Scarlet was in
trouble before this day, clearly. But maybe by being [there]. . . . You
don't get your information secondhand. When you walk down Fifth Avenue and
smell the burning and you want to go to the wound and help.
AJC: Do you think your fans expected you to respond in some way, since you
were there?
Amos: The thing about the art and music community, if they don't have their
finger on the pulse, then you need to get rid of us. But this is not just
9/11-based. If you're talking about American history, you've got to include
9/11, but you've got to go further than that. It's about betrayal and that
goes back hundreds of years. It's how we took the land. As this old Native
American woman told me on tour, "Sadly enough, child, the white brother
only took the land. It's time that he take more."
AJC: Meaning?
Amos: Listen to the album.
AJC: The new music seems be more rounded. The songs are more about seeking
solace or love than about expressing rage and hurt.
Amos: I think maybe by being a mother, you begin to look at responsibility
to your own mother.
AJC: And by "your mother" you mean. . . .
Amos: My physical mother, of course. But also, my spiritual mother, which
is my country. But it's other things, too.
AJC: You knew I'd have to ask this question, in a town like Atlanta: Why
Scarlet?
Amos: Of course, you do. I love the idea. Scarlet is a fabric before she
was a color, which takes us to Scarlett O'Hara, and the immigrants. But
just up the road you have the Native Americans. All women bleed; Scarlet
can be any woman.
AJC: Your concert draws lots of teen girls, wearing black eye makeup and
T-shirts that say things like "Recovering Christian," who seem to be very
affected by your music, who cry through your sets. Does that ever concern
you; that all that might get in the way of the music?
Amos: People have to have their own experience with the music. Once you put
it out there, it's between them and the songs.
AJC: I'd read that Atlantic dropped you because they wanted to focus on
artists who were selling millions of records.
Amos: That's not true. They didn't drop me. I asked to get off Atlantic
years and years ago. It was a bad relationship, a bad marriage. And they
wouldn't be gracious and let me go. So I maneuvered my way and found people
that were of like mind [at Epic].
AJC: Do you have any special plans for Atlanta?
Amos: I won't know until two hours before I go on. . . . Each stop on the
tour is different.
AJC: Some of the review copies of "Scarlet's Walk" were shipped inside
glued-shut CD players to keep the album from being bootlegged. Why?
Amos: Well, the album is out today and it wasn't bootlegged, right?
AJC: Why is that a big concern for you? Loss of royalties? Not being able
to control the release of the music?
Amos: We know people have this consciousness that they think it's OK to
take music for free. And I say if you really can't afford it, then you
should be able to have it for free. But if all you're doing is taking and
taking and not giving anything back, then all you are is a taker. I mean,
you're not writing this story for free, are you, Nick?

Whatever hurts my brother, hurts me, and my brother is very hurt by a phone
call he got this early morning. Now, I don't think my brother would want me
to tell a bunch of strangers the details so I'll just leave it at this: I
love my brother and when someone hurts him, it hurts me so much. He said
that his situation reminds him a lot of the song "A Sorta Fairytale" and it
holds a very special place in his heart. I can definitely relate. "A Sorta
Fairytale" reminds me a lot of my ex-best friend Nicole, I'll tell you about
her in another E-mail. The thing about that is that I did write an E-mail
to RDTRN about Nicole but my damn E-mail messed up and erased it completely.
I'll probably write you about it either tonight or soon.

I seriously cannot imagine life without music. It can help situations and
for the pure enjoyment make people either happier or express feelings they
want to express...the list goes on. So many songs that I've heard relate to
my life and I love playing them in my certain moods. The angry songs, love
songs, sad songs, party songs, etc. etc. etc. They're all apart of me and I
love them.
Music is amazing...I love it...the good music, yes.

"Five Women' goes extra mile in too short a run
Morning Call; Allentown, Pa.; Nov 5, 2002; Tony Sienzant Special to The
Morning Call - Freelance;
Abstract:
The room is an opulent teen dream of decorative Southern gentility, except
for the poster of Malcolm X above the bed. It acts as a safe haven for the
bride's sister, Meredith, who, we discover later, is in love with the groom.
Blair Zimnoch is cast as a tough rebel who speaks her mind; she had a
similar personality in Cedar Crest's October production of "Stepping Out."
Kerri-leigh Taylor plays the innocent Francis, a Bible-bred non- drinking
virgin, while the older Beth Coulter excels in the role of lesbian Mindy.
Amanda Boyarsky does a fine job as Georgeanne, a woman in a failing
marriage.

It's a nice surprise when a local theater production is able to transcend
the narrative and make one forget that a play is being performed. That's
what happened in the second act of "Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,"
presented last weekend at Cedar Crest College.
Somehow actors Matt Geist and Christine Sexton slipped from behind the veil
of illusion to make their exchange a transfixing bit of reality. The scene
relayed all the risk, tension and surprise that comes with the beginning of
a courtship.
Not all the credit goes to the actors. They had the script of the talented
Alan Ball to work with. Ball, as you may know, wrote "American Beauty,"
which won five Academy Awards in 1999, including Best Original Screenplay.
"Five Women" doesn't quite reach that status, but it has the same kick,
charm and naughty personality.
The play transpires in a single afternoon in an upstairs bedroom of a
Tennessee mansion. There, five bridesmaids commiserate, chill out with a
marijuana joint, bitch about their outfits, gossip, vent and bare their
souls. They leave the room only to make an appearance at the wedding
reception.
Amanda Boyarsky does a fine job as Georgeanne, a woman in a failing
marriage.
But the meatiest role is Sexton's character of Trisha. This wise-
beyond-her-years bad girl has seen so much trouble that she's given up on
love, but not necessarily on men. But Geist offers her something beyond
romance -- honesty -- and makes her believe in believing again. Their
poignant scene occurs without sentimental gloss and becomes the highlight of
the play.
It's too bad there was only a one-weekend run for this delightful,
well-balanced production directed by Marion McCorry.

Hey everybody
Thanks Victoria for the info on the UK limited edition. On a related note,
Brian wrote:
"...why is there so much fuss over the trinkets and not as much talk about
the album?"
Well I was just trying to find out whether I'd been short-changed or not.
And I seem to remember writing that "i'm tempted to say, 'who cares',
because this is a great album". And in fact, since I wrote that, I have
listened to the album over and over again and I am totally head-over-heels
about it. The only tracks which aren't really doing it for me now are "Sweet
Sangria" and "Virginia". I have done a complete about-turn with regard to
"Strange" (which I previously described as 'filler' - ouch!). I tend to
agree with Jai (cool, another Brit on the list!) that "it has the feel of
the early albums, with the technical quality of the more recent ones".
Which is not to say that LE and UTP were especially lacking in "technical
quality" - just that the instrumentation on SW feels much tighter and
fuller. And I agree with Brian that the band will have to accompany Tori on
the tour, as they're a major part of a lot of the songs on SW. (Also
because I've never seen Tori play with a band - that's assuming she comes to
Europe at all - I've yet to see any news on that front).
Cyndi (and anyone else who's interested) - my downstairs neighbour has been
unrelenting in his noisiness so I'm seriously thinking of getting the
letting agents involved. Either that, or taking up Appalachian clog
dancing... ;-)
That'll be all for now
Matt
