Subject: Philadelphia

Hey Jessica,

the song that Tori sung at that show (i was there, yay!) is by Neil
Young. Its from the movie Philadelphia as well (like the Boss' track)
the one cute thing about Tori's performance of this song was that she
had the lyrics taped to the floor and she kept looking down at them to
sing the song .. :)

 philadelphia from philadelphia (1993)

philadelphia

sometimes i think that i know
what love's all about,
and when i see the light
i know i'll be all right.

i've got my friends in the world,
i had my friends,
when we were boys and girls
and the secrets came unfurled

city of brotherly love,
place i call home,
don't turn your back on me.
i don't want to be alone.
love lasts forever.

someone is talking to me,
calling my name.
tell me i'm not to blame,
i won't be ashamed of love.
philadelphia.

city of brotherly love,
brotherly love.

sometimes i think that i know
what love's all about,
and when i see the light
i know i'll be all right.
philadelphia.

 hope this helps out! ;)

 take care and faery hugs!

i [obviously] haven't heard tori perform the song, but i wonder if it might
be neil young's "philadelphia"? it appeared on the soundtrack for the film,
and was also played towards the end of the film itself. it's heart-rending.

I totally understand what you mean ms. jessica parsons! I really like the
way some guys' wrists look and definitely shoulders! You're right, eyes are
definitely the best and go without saying at times.
I think lips are one of my favorites. I'm big on kissing - especially
french kissing. I haven't french kissed anyone in a really long time and I
am craving a good one so much!

Well, ms. jessica parsons, I didn't know that birth control pills help
cramps from your period. I don't have to worry about getting pregnant
anyway since I'm going to stay a virgin until I'm an adult.

I'll check it out.

Oh gosh, Succubus Megan, I feel so sorry for you. Maybe you should sit down
and talk to her about all that and if she doesn't change the way she acts
when you're trying to sleep then you should buy some earplugs or maybe if
you have another friend in the building you can sleepover at their place I
hope this works out for you.

Good luck sweetie.

pregnant and well, they're kind of fun to take. just push them out of the

(and)

"ok i have to go to poetry now,"

Okay, Jessica. I think we're secretly on the same wavelength. Because
birth control pills? THEY KICK ASS!! Seriously, they're the greatest
thing that any female with an overactive period could ask for. Love them
love them love them! No more bleeding in the middle of class because my
period likes to surprise me. No more constant periods for a month of bad
badness. No more going through tampons like M&Ms. (*Well...not like M&Ms
cuz you eat tampons, (EWWWW!) but like M&Ms because they both disappear
very quickly. Often behind the refridgerator. ...Though I've never found
any tampons behind the refridgerator, because that's just wrong.
Anyways...)

Plus, I'm taking poetry this semester!!!! WheeEEEE!!! Poetry kicks
ass!!!! Like birth control pills... Except that poetry doesn't prevent
babies. Or excessive bleeding... Unless you tore out the pages and
crumpled them up to make a makeshift pad, but that's just blasphemy.

And I think I'll stop talking now, cause I'm probably scaring people.

...

In other news, Angel the Series has become the greatest show on television.
I just downloaded the last 4 episodes and MY GOD has the show improved
since its early days. I was positively scared during Habeas Corpses and
dammit, it's a wonderful feeling!

So, everyone, watch ANGEL! It's becoming a great great show. GREAT show.

...

I want to raise the dead.

Ade, I'm sorry about your grandma, but I respect your feelings too much to
turn her into a zombie. So I probably wouldn't raise her, even if I
_could_ practice voodoo. But I can't, because I'm not from Haiti, and I
think that Baron Samedi is fucking creepy.

...But I still want to raise the dead, cause that would be cool.

It's amazingly fucking hot out there today, plus a cloud has just gone over
and dumped a load, making it amazingly hot and fucking humid. I guess it's
a good a time as any to sit in front of a computer. It's really keeping me
away from things I should be doing, as my life seems to be turning into an
episode of Home Improvement, minus the crappy jokes. I am still waiting
however for Bethany to come over and pick my bathroom tiles.

In #1778, Bethany replied about the SW DVD...
>yeah. i regret getting it now. i mean, it was cute, but $24.99? that's
>what it was in the US, i'm sure it was twice as exorbitant in Australia
>(when we had dinner last year, Brian brought me the copy of SLG with Tori
>in the sheriff's uniform, and the price tag on it said something like $30,
>and that's just a single cd. yowch.).

As you guessed, it was horrendously expensive, but at the time if you did
the currency conversion they were approximately the same, give or take a
dollar. At today's exchange rate, it would be even less value. But it still
wasn't value for money. I could have gone out and bought a whole DVD for
the extra I paid for that and got about an hour and a half extra footage to
boot.

As for the SLG CD, at that time our dollar was really flat, so it was
equivalent to US$16, so it was equivalent to the price of a new release in
your country.

The burning question about Pete Townshend and child porn... I have to go
along with what Dalsh said in #1781. From all the press reports I've read,
he turned himself in and was very up front about it that he was doing
research. One report alluded to Pete being a victim of abuse when was a
child, which isn't hard to understand when you consider characters like
Uncle Ernie and Cousin Kevin in Tommy. Even if he is innocent, his name
will probably be mud anyway. After all the publicity, it would be almost
impossible for him to get a fair trial, so that might go some way to
proving his innocence as his name was the only one released.

Onto lighter matters, when I read that article on The Onion at lunchtime on
Wednesday I nearly choked on my kebab.
http://www.theonion.com/onion3901/one_look_at_my_music.html

It was so accurate it was scary. It's not the first time they've made fun
of Tori's fans and this time seems to be better received than the last, as
I can remember some scathing comments from Tori fans that time. To those
who take offense at it, I'd say "lighten up". It's funny.

Brian

Today, I'm replying to Jessica. The rest of you all can get screwed.

"If any of you know the lyrics or who sang the original version of
Philadelphia please let me know."

The original was by Neil Young; like Springsteen's "Streets of
Philadelphia", it's also on the soundtrack to the movie "Philadelphia".

"I have three words for you that will cure all your female physical
problems: birth control pills. They're the most wonderful invention ever.
you don't get cramps or they are drastically reduced in their severity..."

There are so many different variations on the Pill on the market today, and
so with Jessica encouraging anyone who suffers cramps to "go go go!" for a
prescription, I'd say a little more research should be done before you go on
them. Each variant of the Pill has different side effects, as well as
different severities of side effects. What might work for one female might
have disastrous effects for another. For what it's worth, I never used to
have cramps before I went on the Pill, and only began experiencing them
-after- going on the Pill. Now I'm not on it any more, but it seems the
effects of cramps stuck around with me, although not as severe as they were
on the Pill.

So I'd say shop around, or at least ask your doctor or gyno a thousand
questions before popping that first Pill. Find out which side effects you
can handle - you may have no cramps, but look forward to gaining about 10
kilograms on your average-dosed Pill (something that seems to happen to a
large percentage of females, including myself).
