cyndi just sent me all the y kant tori read songs (thanks, dearie! you
rock!), and i heard "etienne" for the first time. gosh, that song is
beautiful. i keep thinking she's singing "adrienne" (my real name), but i
guess that's just wishful thinking.

anyway, we were discussing ideas for tori videos, and i came up with one for
"amber waves." it begins with amber (a middle-aged, beautiful woman in a
muumuu) in her trailer park, sitting alone on a couch, looking through some
old porn magazines with her former self in them. tori rings the doorbell
because she's visiting, she brings cookies, they hug, and they sit down to
chat and have tea. the music begins, and amber shows tori the pictures.
there's a flashback to when amber was tori's babysitter and tori watches her
fix her makeup and amber gives tori a bit of a makeover. they look in the
mirror together, and then it fades to the present. amber stands in front of
a mirror and looks at herself sadly. she has some wrinkles, her hair is
color-damaged, and she's getting chubbier and saggier. tori gives her a
hug, and they go outside. they walk through a field, and tori takes amber's
hand. together they lift off the ground and fly high into the sky, and as
the music ends, you can hear amber laughing off in the distance.

that's an idea anyway.

*squeals* one more month until the pittsburgh tori concert!

Subject: Director's Chair idea for Hey Jupiter

alooooooooHA, mon amigos! Thanks to Ade's help (thank you thank you thank
you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!), I've come up with a faboo
video idea.. it's for Hey Jupiter--but not the Dakota version--it's for
the original album cut. Anyway.. here it is.. I've got LOTS more ideas to
follow.. as soon as I get 'em allllll typed out. :)

Hey Jupiter (ORIGINAL version--not the Dakota version) video idea:

This takes place maybe a few hours before the Dakota Version does.. it
takes place on the same day at the very least.

For the VERY beginning.. before the music starts.. we see from the angle
of the little girl that rescues Tori in the Dakota version, and we see
Tori storming into the apartment complex, looking rather pissed off, and
you can hear her shoes pounding the floor, sounding with a kind of a
haunted echo.

Tori stops for a moment and then takes a step around the little girl..
and the girl looks up at her and keeps her eyes on her from when she
first walks in until she gets into her apartment.

As Tori passes the girl, she looks at her for a second but then turns
back and continues walking to her apartment, clearly hurt and very angry.

When Tori looks at the girl and kinda pauses in her walking, it cuts back
to the girl and then back to Tori as she turns back, more or less trying
NOT to break down and bawl. and then she slams her door shut. When the
door slams, we see a shot of the girl looking concerned and worried,
giving the hint that the girl had at least an idea that Tori was going
through some trouble of some kind.

Then we see Tori inside her apartment, throwing her coat off and onto the
floor, and the music starts. After throwing her coat off, she kinda falls
against the entrance door, not falling to the floor, but definitely
leaning on the door for support, leans over a little, puts her hands on
her face. She's obviously exasperated, about to cry and forcefully trying
to fight it off, and then she pulls herself together, runs her fingers
through her hair, takes a deep breath, and starts singing.

She's obviously very frustrated, and she's on the phone, trying to get
someone (obviously her ex) to answer, and then she hangs up and wanders
around her apartment, seeing pictures of her and her ex, stuff like that
all around. Every time she goes "Hey Jupiter" or "Hoooo.." things that
have to do with her ex (such as pictures, teddy bears, cards, flowers,
other gifts, and the bed..) catch on fire. She just looks at each of the
burning objects (if it's in her view) kinda sadly, expecting its burning
up to happen, but she wishes it wouldn't, although she knows it's gonna
have to happen anyway since the relationship is over.

When smoke is starting to really form and pour through the cracks in the
door of her apartment, the little girl in the hallway looks up, obviously
smelling something burning, and drops everything, running to get help
from an adult. When she can't get any help, she runs and searches for a
fire alarm to pull. Finding one being *JUST* out of her reach, she jumps
a few times, trying to grab and pull it, and is finally successful.

The alarm sends everybody running out of their homes, some with as much
as they can carry, others with nothing but the clothes on their back,
into the cold outdoors. The little girl stands at the entrance, watching
carefully for Tori.

Meanwhile, during the 2nd bridge of "Hoooo.."'s, Tori goes from wandering
around in her apartment to her piano which is also in flames due to the
other burning objects that were set on it. This continues for a bit and
we cut back to the little girl, still watching for Tori, and obviously
getting more and more concerned as all the people crowd around the
apartment and there is still no sign of Tori.

When the intensity of the song calms down again, we see Tori going from
her piano to her rocking chair that we see her in during the Dakota
version of the song, and we fade to the little girl finally running back
into the apartment and down the hall to rescue Tori.

As Tori sings the very last "Hey Jupiter", we see her wearily sit down
and observe everything happening around her, numb, and then we finally
fade out.

Well there ya have it, folks.. now it's YOUR turn. :D

Happy birthday way back to when Brian T. had his. Sparkling name that and
may I say a very good age as well.

Bethey wrote way back in #1789:

It certainly does, but it can make you intensely paranoid as well. I'm not
going to get on any soapbox and say do or don't smoke dope. I've inhaled
enough of it over the years but largely choose not to. What I will say is
that what works for one person is not necessarily the right thing for another.

Teunis - you live in Vancouver? I always thought you lived out in the
frozen wastelands of some mining town. If you were there last August I
would have looked you up.

Cyndi wrote in #1790:

That one's way too easy. LOL

Jessica wrote in #1791:
>is anyone fucking sick of hearing about duct tape and how americans are

and...

>the media is making me paranoid and i know it's partially my own fault.

I wish I had shares in a company that makes duct tape. While watching
the media is your fault, they are the ones to blame for mass hysteria.

Having been in your country in October 2001 and last August, it's easy to
understand why people are living in fear. I saw enough news shows to make
me want to turn the TV off permanently. It's the constant bombardment of
terror alerts and if it wasn't about the "War on Terror", it was about the
impending war on Iraq. I can't help but think that U.S. government spin
doctors are having their way with the media.

The same thing has been going on here for months, ever since the bombing in
Bali. While 88 Australians died there, the terrorists themselves have since
admitted they were targeting Americans. Had they actually talked to their
potential victims, they would have realized it was a bad target and walked
away. To give some perspective, Bali is to Australia like Cancun is to the
U.S. While it was a personal attack on our people, it was not an attack on
Australian soil, which our government seems keen to make out otherwise.

Last November, we got our first security alert, which was to put the
country in a state of "heightened alert" and that something unspecified was
to happen before Christmas. What did it do? It made people scared, just
like I'd seen in the U.S. months before. Ok, sure the government was
getting a lot of flak over not saying anything about possible risks in
Bali, but you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Personally I
find ignorance is bliss. Of course, thankfully, nothing happened, so once
the new year had passed by a couple of weeks, they declared the state of
heightened alert could last for years. Why bother having one then? It gives
little room to move.

Anyway, a few weeks after the alert, an ad campaign started up with the
slogan, "Be alert, but not alarmed". Great, you've already gone and scared
half the country, lets make sure to scare the other half. Just when you've
almost forgotten it, we'll send you a booklet and a fridge magnet so you
can always be reminded of this state of insanity.

Terrorists have won. They have governments terrorizing their own people,
when really what they should be doing is going about the business of
national security quietly, but visibly. But it is one tool the spin doctors
are using to justify having a war.

That's all I have to say about this particular subject, but I'll probably
have something to say on related ones.

Brian

I just heard Johnny Cash's version of Hurt last week and I
love it! Who would have ever thought Johnny Cash would be
covering NIN? Funny! I also heard his cover of U2's One. I
didn't like that one, though. Too monotone and creepy
sounding.

As far as this whole thing about going to war, I can't even
stand to hear about it anymore. I am interested in politics
and what is going on in my world, but have found myself
watching Simpson reruns rather than the news. The media
coverage of everything is such bullshit. They will talk
about the same things over and over, but leave out all the
little things people don't know and should. Plastic and
duct tape? Forget it! Covering my windows and air vents
with plastic doesn't sound very safe to me. If we're gonna
go, we're gonna go. I won't run out and cause a big freak
out drama over all this shit. I wonder how many people have
given themselves heart attacks worrying about being bombed.
Seems a little silly, doesn't it?

Valentines Day was awesome. I had so much fun with my son.
I bought him a big heart balloon that said I love you and a
chocolate toad with a gummy bug inside it and a dozen roses.
We went and saw Jungle Book 2 with my sister and neice.
Then, I had 2 ex-boyfriends calling me wanting to come over.
I told them it was mine and Tanner's night and nobody else
was allowed. Like I want to hang out with an ex-boyfriend
on V-Day.

I need opinions. My ex-husband has a girlfriend that he has
been living with for a year or so now. I have never been
mean to her or even gotten bitchy with her (except a little
when she tried to keep my son on Mothers Day). I have never
minded or had a problem with her. I figure, as far as women
in my son's life, she is not a bad choice. Then, yesterday,
my son called me from his dad's house and wanted to come
home early. I told him what time I was going to be home and
said he could come home then. She then told him to get off
the phone with me. he said, "I want to talk to my mommy
still." She said, "you're done, give me that" and hung up
the phone. Who the fuck does she think she is?!?! I can't
talk to her about it because my ex makes sure that we never
come in contact with each other. I feel this is a problem
that I need to deal with, but am not quite sure how to go
about it. I have tried to be cool to her for 2 years now
just to hear that she talks shit about me to my son
constantly. I am between a rock and a hard place. I don't
want my son around her, but won't come between him and his
dad. HELP!!! I have had such awesome kharma and positive
energy lately and don't want to let these people ruin that.

EDITORIAL: THE PEACE MOVEMENT ISN'T ABOUT PEACE
By David Horowitz <http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/authors.asp?ID=4>
FrontPageMagazine.com
<http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=5619> | January

The "Peace" Movement Isn't About Peace&

Its about carrying on the lefts war against America. When your country
is attacked, when the enemy has targeted every American regardless of
race, gender or age for death, there can be no "peace" movement. There
can only be a movement that divides Americans and gives aid and comfort
to our enemies.

In his speech to Congress after 9/11, the President said: "We have seen
their kind before. They are the heirs of all the murderous ideologies of
the 20th Century. By sacrificing human life to serve their radical
visions, by abandoning every value except the will to power, they follow
in the path of fascism, Nazism and totalitarianism."

The so-called "peace movement" today is led by the same hate-America
radicals who supported Americas totalitarian enemies during the Cold
War. They marched in support of the Vietcong, the Sandinista Marxists
and the Communist guerrillas in El Salvador. Before that they marched in
behalf of Stalin and Mao. They still support Castro and the nuclear
lunatic in North Korea, Kim Jong-Il. They are the friends in deed of
Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.

What prompts American radicals to make common cause with such monsters?
The answer is obvious: They share a common view of America as the "Great
Satan." They believe that it is America not tyrants like Saddam
Hussein that inflicts misery and suffering on the world. The targets
of the 9/11 terrorists were Wall Street and the Pentagon. These were the
targets of American radicals long before.

In the perverse minds of the so-called "peace" radicals, America is the
"root cause" of all the root causes that inspire the terrorists to
attack us. "America is to blame for what is wrong in the world. The
enemy is us."

Today, as we battle the Axis of Evil which threatens us with weapons of
mass destruction, these familiar mantras are rising on college campuses
from coast to coast. Just as they did in the Cold War past.

During the Cold War, the radical "peace" movement bullied right-thinking
Americans into silence. Our government lost the ability to stay the
course in the anti-Communist war. The result was the Communist slaughter
of two-and-a-half million peasants in Indo-China after the divisions at
home forced America to leave.

Once again, the hate America left is attempting to silence
right-thinking citizens. It is attempting to divide the home front in
the face of the enemy. Even as we go to war. It is stabbing our young
men and women in the back even as they step into harms way to defend
us. It is attempting to paralyze our government again and prevent it
from securing the peace.

We cant afford to let this happen. The time has come for those who love
freedom and who appreciate the great bounties of this nation to stand up
and be counted.

He's buried in a grave just like everyone else. He actually died a year or

who has been confirmed as opening many of the shows on the second north
american leg of tori's tour, here are a few more probable dates for the tour:

april 4 - dobson arena, vail, co
april 18 - arlington theater, santa barbara, ca
april 19 - theatre at arrowhead pond, anaheim, ca

the dobson arena confirms the april 4th date on their concert calendar
