Winterlion, thanks for sharing stories about your grandmother. I would have
loved to try those creampuffs. :)

While this is true. You have to look at it for what it is. Most
conversions to Islam are not happening in the Western world or
industrialized nations. They are happening in Africa, the South Pacific,
and the 3rd-world parts of South East Asia. Why? Because they are desperate
for relief of anykind from their impoverished and tragedy filled lives.
Islam has had a foothold in Northern Africa for centuries; it was quite
easy for it to spread down through the south. For societies and
countries that have only known caos and disorder for long periods of
time, Islam's strict social order and religous law give them something
to hold on to and believe in.
It may be the "fastest" growing, but it is not the most widespread.
Those spots are held by Christrianity and The Baha'i Faith (which is now
the second most wide spread religion, the 3rd "fastest" growing, and the
4th largest).

cyndi, thank you for saying nice things in the last digest. i just had a
miserable 20 minutes with a microfiche machine. those things are the spawn
of satan because i do not understand them. anyway, your email to the list
cheered me up somewhat.
i have to turn in this paper thursday since i have to waste 7 hours of
friday on an two airplanes. hopefully neither of them will have crying
babies, lecherous men, loud talkers or terrorists. anyway, the paper is
about the sinking of lusitania. i want to beat the nytimes.com website since
they stop having articles before a certain time period.
i need comfort sex right now. i've always wanted comfort sex. like, hi i'm
having a bad day. i need to get laid to forget about life for a little
while. or a long while.
did i mention that i hate dealing with microfiche machines? i even hate the
word since i don't know if they are microfilm or microfiche. whatever, i
hate them all. and i hate that we can't use the kitchen in our house and we
had to order $350 worth of pizza tonight. I ate 1/65th of $350 worth of
pizza. that's fucked up.
today i was on the dent and looking at pictures of rdt hotties with tori.
haha. it was funny and wasted time. oh! and i got to take a nap. yay.
the chicago soundtrack is so wonderful, it's cheering me up. :)
-the name on everybody's lips is gonna be JESSICA!
why is my house so ghetto fabulous?

Subject: Tori sighting
Last night I was watching the PBS documentary "Strange Fruit" about the
background behind the song and Billie Holiday's involvement with it, and at
the end of the program, there was a listing of some of the many musicians
who have recorded the song over the years, and at the top of the
alphabetical list was Tori.
I had not realised until seeing this program that Billie was born in Baltimore.
It's possible this has yet to air in some parts of the country, so keep an
eye out for a program called "Independent Lens" with the documentary title
"Strange Fruit."

Subject: Mona Lisa Smile
Tori has a small part in an upcoming film titled "Mona Lisa Smile" with
Julia Roberts and Kirsten Dunst (and several other name people). She's
credited as the "Wedding Singer."
This film is still in production, so no release date is set yet, but it
will be out this year.
