Subject: Coded Message

After numerous rounds of "We don't even know if Saddam is still alive,"
Saddam decided to send George W. a letter in his own writing to let him
know that he is still in the game.

Dubya opened the letter and saw a coded message:

"370HSSV-0773H"

He couldn't figure it out, so he asked Karl Rove. Rove suggested that the
head of the CIA would certainly understand code, so Dubya sent it to
George Tenet. Tenet however, couldn't figure it out either. He suggested,
"How about Condi? She has a doctorate. That means she's smart." But Dr.
Rice was baffled, too.

As Dubya was pondering the mysterious message, which lay on the desk
before him, Colin Powell came into the Oval Office. When he saw the paper
and read what was written on it, he asked, "Sir, where did that come
from?"

Bush replied testily, "It's supposedly a message from Saddam. But what the
hell does '370HSSV-0773H' mean?"

Powell cleared his throat and replied, "Mr. President, I think you've been
looking at the message upside down."

Subject: Tori on CMT

I think I figured out why Tori's on CMT these days.. they're
doing a concert that accompanies a top 100 (I think) best country song
ever list.. and we all know Tori covered Desperado by the Eagles.. and...
a lot of people consider that a "country" song.. and... I bet ya that's
what it is! somebody.. correct me if I'm wrong.. or slap me.. or
SOMETHING cuz it really, REALLY bugs me that some of my favorite artists
(Tori and Kid Rock to name a few) are appearing on CMT cuz I'm not very
big on country music (or rather--southern rock.. whichever you wanna call
it.).

Sincerely, Cyndi S. Crawford

Oh, noooo. That wasn't Bethey (Beth Coulter), that was ME. :P
But I'd still be happy to see you post.

Even though I accept that RDT is a community for Toriphiles, and not just a
discussion list about Tori, I suppose I always felt that there was a more
appropriate place for me to write about my life than on this list. Once I
joined LJ and felt comfortable enough to write about my own life (as opposed
to just ideas or quotes), then it really became a good home base for such
things. It also makes discussion more immediate, and creates an even
stronger sense of community (not the least of which is because I know, in
person, a good deal of the people I interact with over there).

I've thought about this a lot in the year and a half since I joined.

Yes, I am also spending less time on email, but not a lot less. I tend to
take longer to reply to longer emails, but still try to make them rewarding
when I do respond. :)

Ouch. :(
