I thought Tori looked and sounded nervous while performing "Crucify". She
seemed OK for the chat, then a bit ragged on "Winter". Maybe I'm just
spoiled by the video collection.... Nice to see her, though.

And of course, Jay was a dick. Let's see...comments about her being
attractive, a comment to the effect that "Crucify" might cause some people
to change the channel, and a comment to the effect that "Winter" is a
pretty song (just what a pretty woman should be playing). Oh, well, one
can only imagine how Letterman would have handled it. That's the problem
with hosts who are comedians: many times, they feel they have to be funny
all the time, even during interviews with interesting guests.

I guess it's great that Tori made it to the big leagues as far as interview
shows go, but isn't it a bit late for its promo value? The Arsenio appear-
ance was pretty much the last gasp for that. People can't go see her play
live now, and I don't really think last night's performance is gonna make
anyone rush out and buy the album. "Precious Things" might have done it.
But: at least she was actually a guest this time, interviewed and
everything, unlike most of her other U.S. appearances.

So does anybody else think "Tear In Your Hand" could be a country hit?
