Pre Session for college is almost done. I've just got 4 more days left and then, the end! Thank god. ...except after that I"m gonna have to get up at 7:30 instead of 8:00 to get to class. Dammit. My stomach feels weird from all the high-calorie food I've eaten this weekend. So odd. And I got into a writers workshop with Ade. Yay! And my hair is oily. Non-Yay! ...This announcement has been brought to you by Megan. Who is feeling strangely not like herself. It must be all the sleep I've been getting. How bizarre. How Now, Brown Cow? It's the first time I've ever been to a Catholic service and quite simply, I didn't understand a word of it. The priest was Vietnamese and I could never quite tell if he was talking in Vietnamese or Latin. The only time I could understand him was when he said, "Please stand." There was an awful lot of standing up and sitting down again and for what I couldn't tell. I've only ever been to funerals of various Protestant varieties before so it was a bit of an eye opener. I'll have to get one of my Catholic co-workers to explain it to me. I did have another burning question to ask but have plain forgot. Teunis of Peters asked in #1820: >Have you ever been attracted to someone you -know- you shouldn't be? Any >of y'all come up with solutions to that one? Haven't we all at some stage of our lives? I guess the solution to that is to stay away from them, but to do that it helps if you understand the reasons that make them "bad" for you. If the bad things are outweighed by the benefits you can get from them, then they might be worth the trouble, unless the bad things are really, really bad things. As with all moral judgements, it's up to the individual. Maybe the thing that attracts you to them is the fact they are different, in that they do things you could never do yourself. If what they do completely goes against your sense of morality then they're bad news but if it doesn't then their actions could well complement your own. But I think deep down in all of us there is a beast waiting to be unleashed and when we see someone with those qualities, a part of us wants to be that way so we have trouble staying away when we really know better. I do believe this is called transference, at least in part. Go read a psychology text if you want to know more. My own rule of thumb in circumstances like this is to go with the gut instinct. If something doesn't feel right, just walk away. If you're going to take a bite of that forbidden fruit Teunis, I hope that apple is ripe and juicy and doesn't turn pear shaped on you. the slippery Jessica wrote in #1821: >ok brian! animal lube, like the kind we had is sometimes used when helping >animals giving birth or things like that. Yeah, I'm really into sticking my fist up a cow's vagina. I can't help but think of what you described as a petroleum based lubricant which is a bit of a no-no when it comes to human slip and slide, as it can cause skin irritations in the really tender spots and can make certain latex preventative products perish. Certainly by your description that it cleaned your clothes underlines my thought. I felt I wasted just over two hours of my life yesterday watching The Matrix Reloaded. Does anybody else who's seen it feel that way? They were probably brought on from the joy of meeting the boyfriend's family and it going well. We were listening to a cd i made for my boyfriend called Clouds on The 101. I had Concertina, Cloud On My Tongue and Your Cloud on there together, then later in the album I had Me and A Gun, Baker Baker, and Lust together. I tried to tell little mini stories with it. Anyway, The Dakota Version of Hey Jupiter came on and I just love the last 30 seconds of it. Actually I really like the whole song, but the last 30 seconds are just so pretty. I almost cried. Then SATY came on and it really made me think of high school, of driving around in the evening in my little blue car. I could almost smell the interior of the car, and felt like for a minute I was transported back there. It was a nice feeling. Just wanted to share :) john _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o o-o-o $$$ Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad digest $$$ To POST messages to this list: <rdtrn@torithoughts.org> Can't figure out how to SUB, UNSUB, or CHANGE ADDRESSES?
