Jessica wrote "Ooooh nell, did you ever see Zoolander when he (David
Duchovny) played the hand model?"

Jessica, I own that movie. I'm definitely one of the ones that thinks
it's funny. The dvd menus are hilarious. Will Farrel dancing in place
and saying "Obey My DOG!"

"What's your next piece on the tattoo idea?"

Where to begin.... Well I have a decent sized Celtic backpiece so far.
I'm itching for something on the girlie side next. I love calla lilies
so I was thinking something on my upper left back . And ideas for my
future right 1/4 sleeve are possibly a swan surrounded by japanese-esk
waves, or a starscape with negative space stars and nautical stars, or
an Edward Gorey drawing. Not sure exactly. This will be very far in the
future since I'm saving to goto Ireland in march. I would love to find
some inspiration there. Possibly grave stone art. I'll have to remember
my charcoal and tracing paper.

"yes, undies are great. what are your favorite? i'm a
hardcore VS fan."

Well, I work at a place that sells VS closeout (think $5.99 for a $35.00
bra) so....you can imagine what my paycheck looks like by payday. Plus I
get first dibs and a discount. :)

Later kids. Werd to yer moms.

Oh, definitely go skydiving! I went last fall for my
brother's 30th birthday, and it was incredible beyond
words. I jumped at Freefall Adventures in south
Jersey, and would definitely recommend them. I don't
know where in PA you are, but I had to drive well over
an hour to get there, and I won't hesitate to say that
it was worth the trip. They have highly experienced
jumpers (they require you to jump in tandem for your
first time, and my instructor had been doing
approximately FIFTEEN jumps a day for over 10 years),
and the drop height is a lot higher than other
places-- 13,500 ft.
Their site, if you're interested, is:
http://www.freefalladventures.com/
and for info:
http://www.freefalladventures.com/skydive/main_student.html

Oh, and make sure you get a video of the jump if you
decide to go, because it'll all be a blur.

Okay... sorry if that seemed like an advertisment.

Mmm... and, Jessica mentioned screennames. Mine is
LindaGyne on AIM. w00t!

so it's September 11.. whoop.. dee.. doo. how do we
mourn/celebrate or whatever we do on the anniversary when we've realized
just how bad the country has become thanks to.. *certain people* shoving
"WAR ON TERRORISM" down our throats and wanting to try to take over the
freaking world from the looks of it? somebody tell me, I'm tired of
sitting here and not saying something about it for fear of being
ostracized by people who don't agree with me. I'm dead SICK of it.
ah. okay. got that off my chest. now on with the replies. :D

Bethey and her radio show.. seemed to be a success.. YAY! definitely look
into expanding. I recommend the internet.. so that we pretty RDTRNers can
give it a listen too. :)

Bethey said of that: "I played the whole of "The River MusicHall" from
RAINN.org (only $10 bucks for a kickass CD, so go get it!) and did 5
promo spots for RAINN during it."
you did five promo spots for RAINN? were they pre-recorded, or
did you just mention it, or WHAT? what exactly didya do? :)

Nell spoke of her indulgences: "For me personally I think my collections
are my worst indulgences. Mostly action figures. And since the apartment
situation is less than desirable I'm basically just accumulating many
LARGE boxes of them. I need a room where I can maniacally dust and
catalog my plastic treasures like the true nerd girl that I am."
sounds fun.. poor action figures. :-\ my best friend collects
Barbies.. and me.. well.. I collect CD's.. if you wanna put it that way.
:D I collect--and listen to--CD's. :D

Happy belated birthday, Sara and cheefooska Juan! I hope they were
fantabulous. :D

Bethey said: "I'm a "jack Mormon". My family was among the original
founders with J. Smith, and went to Utah with B. Young."
wow, sweet.. your family is part of the original founders? TOO
sweet. my sister is a converted Mormon cuz she converted so she could
marry her husband. :)

lovely Dalsh said: "So Tori's putting out a "greatest hits" this year and
taking some time off."
yeah, but don't tell Tori that. she says she's putting out a Best
Of album.. and if you tell her it's a Greatest Hits album, she'll bop you
over the head and tell you otherwise. :D

Dalsh then said: "No wonder she's been working her butt off over the past
few years with everything she's done seemingly nonstop."
indeed. *nods* the poor girl must be exhausted by now. :P and I'm
sure Tash is just as tired--at least of her mommy being so busy, ya
think?

Jessica said: "cyndi, what's your AIM name?"
        it's CiaraRavenBlaze. :D

*coughs* okay. time to go back to.. uh.. cleaning my room. yeah, that's
it, cleaning my room! so on that note... party naked!

Sincerely, Cyndi S. Crawford

Hola mes amies,

My computer has many many many things wrong with it, including two viruses I just removed but who seemed to have removed some of my physical memory (!!!) and a bunch of icon-confusion. Plus, sucky speakers, but that's more hardware than software.

Portishead is the greatest band ever to groove to. There's no one else like them. I like them very much.

And also? I have homework tomorrow! And a quiz! And I have to get up at 9, but it's 1 :30 AM and still I am on the computer! How about that!??!

I wish I was a rich girl.
Na na nah nah nah nah NA na na na NA na na na na.
I'd have all the diamonds and the pearls
If I were a wealthy giiirrrrllllll

I'm very much on a mental teeter-totter right now. Perhaps I'll write again when I'm slightly less insane in the membrane. (Insane in the BRAIN!)

Also, every bit of technology in my life is breaking. It's horrible. Obviously, there's some sort of conspiracy going on to drive me Amish. It's terrible. I'll have to wear buttonless outfits and be really hot from lack of air conditioning. Dammit! Salvation is sweaty!

It's September 11th. I have nothing to say about that besides that I wish the government wouldn't fight wars that I don't think we need to fight. And I wish we would concentrate more of our funds on rebuilding Afghanistan. They need it, else just another bunch of assholes will rise up and take over that poor country. They've been through enough, as is.

It's only you who can tear me apart
And it's only you who can turn my broken heart

Subject: Be Careful of what you wish for...

Yesterday, I went to school at 11AM to man the radio station for an all day
tribute to September 11th. I was on the air until about 7, except for two
breaks. The first was 20 minutes to "get the pulse of the campus" (dead as
a doornail). On my way back, I stopped to see the master of ceremonies for
that night's speaker to make sure he got my request to announce the
candlelight vigil the Peace Coalition was leading after the speaker. I
ended up being invited to an intimate VIP dinner with the guest speaker.
Angus Gillespie is a professor at Rutgers and wrote "The Twin Towers", a
history of the WTC. There were two dozen guests, mostly faculty, and tables
set for four. I ended up sitting at Prof Gillespie's table and getting into
interesting convo's regarding the WTC (like the automated window-washer). I
asked him point blank what he felt should go there and he replied "A
multi-purpose structure for business, retail, memorial and residential." I
shook my head. "No, how high?" He (thankfully) replied, "Oh, no more than
70 stories." I agreed and said, "Any taller and it's like saying 'bring em
on'." He enthusiastically agreed by commenting on the recent sabotage in
Iraq, in response to the President saying that 6 weeks ago.

I quite frankly was shocked that I was asked to attend such an intimate
gathering. The Prof who asked me didn't know anything about me other than I
was President of the Peace Coalition. I was grateful that I had on a nice
blouse and jeans, though with warning I would have dressed up. My Professor
was there ("let's be friends" professor), he arrived late and his jaw
dropped when he saw me sitting at the VIP table. Then he completely ignored
me and sat at the far side of the room. He is so scared of me. I just came
on too hard and frightened him witless.

So I decided I would shine a bit this year so he couldn't help but notice
me. I just never dreamed of shining this bright with no effort. My radio
show is becoming a hit, played in the lounge outside the cafe, and others
tell me they catch some of it on other TV's. The art class is going to turn
it on. The Peace Coalition is growing bit by bit (only a dozen at the vigil
though), and I'm organizing a teach-in for the end of this month about the
importance of voting (yes, my professor is supposed to be on the panel).
I'm hearing rumors that I'm the Student Ambassador choice, but I know two
others who have applied and have a good chance also. My 911 (Silver Skins)
poem was printed in the school paper, a full page.

I wanted to shine. I just never dreamed...
