Linda introduced herself:
>>i guess it's time for me to say who the heck i am. my name is Linda and i
live in Ca. i am a senior at cal state fullerton and i'm majoring in radio
tv and film. i too have a radio show but it's only heard online.<<
The timing sucks for me to listen. I'm running all day on Tuesdays without
a chance near a computer. I think it's really cool we both have DJ
positions. I wish my show were heard in another way than closed circuit TV.
I'm talking to the faculty advisor about expanding our transmission power
this week, maybe going online. We'll see. Cedar Crest College has more
students than ever in it's history this year (including two Saudi
Princesses), so money is flowing pretty freely, and that's what you need to
expand.
>> i've been lucky enough to land an internship at BMG. for those of you who
don't know BMG owns a bunch of record labels and music libraries and a
publishing company and a ton more. i'll intern twice a week up in los
angeles. i start on wed i'm very excited. <<
That is way cool! There aren't intern positions in Allentown PA that come
close to that!
>>on a more personal note: i'm 25 years old. i'm white. i have blonde hair
and wear glasses. i'm five foot 3. i am also a member of the LDS church (aka
Mormon) i love it. <<
I'm a "jack Mormon". My family was among the original founders with J.
Smith, and went to Utah with B. Young. Orem Utah was named for one branch
of that family. I left the church at 17 and have never looked back. I
respect it for what it is (organized religion), but my spirituality does not
fit in with its tenets. In fact, some of my beliefs are in direct
opposition to what the Elders of the Church preach, but that's just me. I
believe in the Fates and Fairies and that makes me happy.
>>i love animals. i love to swim. i love oreo cookies and anything
chocolate. i enjoy fish and popcorn. halloween is my most fave holiday and
i've been having a party in the month of october for 6 years now. the cops
like to come too. =) i like to do crazy things like jump out of airplanes
and off of bridges. if i could fly i would. <<
I love animals (as demonstrated by my pet rats in the past and my current
cat, guinea pig and gerbil) also, and seem to have a way with them. All my
pets do tricks, even the cat. I used to love to swim, but have no real
opportunity for it anymore. Actually, since I moved to PA from California
20 years ago. Actually, my first time in the Atlantic Ocean was a huge
disappointment to me. It was flat, grayish-green, and 85 degrees. Like
taking a hot bath on a hot day. Plus it was filled with jelly-fish. OUCH!
Give me Santa Cruz and Great White Sharks any day!!! :)
I also want to jump out of an airplane one day (not off bridges or buildings
though), and would love to learn how to fly (but not in an airplane).
Just thought it was interesting we shared so much.
Fairy Blessings,
Bethey
I'm OK when Everything's not OK
cause it's the Fairies Revenge they say
And I have always been a Fairy.

Subject: The end of one era... the start of another....
So Tori's putting out a "greatest hits" this year and taking some time off.
No wonder she's been working her butt off over the past few years with
everything she's done seemingly nonstop.
Any mention on a companion DVD to the CD release? This might have been why
she hadn't put out the 1992-1998 video. Hopefully the stuff from the first
home video she did will be on there as well. I have a feeling that she'll
find a way to put new stuff out there for us to hear... somewhere, somehow
the Bee Sides will be making an appearance(maybe do what U2 did, a 2 CD set
of the hits and B-sides).
But this has been an interesting trip over the past decade with her. Going
from being considered an imitator to being imitated, someone who has become
a considerable influence and has maintained total creative control even
working for an "evil" big record company. Someone who has taken risks and
gone down many musical journeys in the face of criticism and came out
unscathed. Someone who wrote a song that impacted people so much that she
answered with RAINN.
Can't wait to see what she does in chapter 2....

Nell said...."I has madly in love with Dirk Benedict who played Starbuck on
Battlestar Galactica and Faceman on The A-Team. I was too young to catch
them first run, but boy howdy if I haven't seen every single rerun of
both shows!"
Ladies, she is NOT kidding. nell, after i read the digest, i found some site
called ateamshrine.com. he is hot! too bad i never saw a single episode of
a-team.
"David Duchovny, The X-Files.....I still love him, who am I kidding."
Ooooh nell, did you ever see Zoolander when he played the hand model? it's
hilarious. that movie is either stupid or funny, depending on your sense of
humor.
John Cusack....oh yes! he is one of those people that will forever be
attractive.
"Tattoos. My god if I had all the money I needed to do my next
piece.....but for me right now they are DEFINITELY an indulgence.Jessica,
I'm with ya on the undies problem, girl. If I have ten bucks 'til payday and
there's a sale on underoos, I'm in big trouble." What's your next piece on
the tattoo idea? yes, undies are great. what are your favorite? i'm a
hardcore VS fan.
Linner/Linda said..... (which is it?)
"i'd love for you guys to listen and IM me when i'm on the air (Linner317 is

Congratulations, Bethey, on how well your radio show went. You and (new)
Linda can network on how to get radio jobs. :-)
Speaking of which, welcome to Linda.
Celebrity crushes? Hmm.
Sigourney Weaver, of course.
Lauren Bacall (when I first saw "To Have & Have Not," before I figured out
the difference between old movies and new movies).
I had a crush on the character of the Black Queen in the movie Barbarella,
which was recently explained by the fact that her voice was dubbed by Joan
Greenwood.
One of the members of the band Bionic Finger (I don't want to be specific,
they may be lurking here for all I know).
> $$$ New Shit Has Come To Light digest $$$
Do you have to use so many cuss words? :-)
As B/4,
John

Oh wowies, another Linda! Welcome!
I can rename myself Gyne or somethin'. It's my
nickname on anything else I do online as it is.
Since we're re-introducing, the short version of the
story behind my nickname is that my friends from
freshman year of college used the word "gyne" as their
term for "vagina" (so it's pronounced like the second
syllable of the word-- rhymes with "vine").
I'm a 22 year old, lefthanded grad student who's
hoping to get a PhD in neuroscience/psychology (if I
can ever pass statistics-- grrr!). I went to Rutgers
as an undergrad, and loved it like all hell. When I
was in high school, I would have given my right tit to
go to Princeton, and now that I'm there as a grad
student, I'm so thankful that things worked out as
they did.
I have three older brothers and two dogs (a 12 year
old beagle mix and a 9 year old pomeranian). I love
redheads, and my favorite food is French onion soup.
I am a caffeine addict.
I've always been somewhat of an environmentalist, and
love working with outdoor cleanups, animal shelters,
and "save the oceans"-type hippie things, and yet I do
animal research. Some people think these things are
contradictory. I'm not one of those people.
I'm 5'10, and older people (I frequently visit my 93
year old grandma at her nursing home) like to comment
on the fact that I'm tall with blonde hair and blue
eyes, as though these are the qualities that every man
desires in a woman. On the contrary, men seem to be
drawn either to 1.) exotic women, which my white ass
is not, or 2.) "the girl next door", a category from
which I've been disqualified due to my tall
blondeness. Fuckerrrrrrrs.
I don't quite know how to explain my personal life. I
guess "highly promiscuous, yet caring and respectful"
would have been a good phrase for the past few years.
At the moment, I've been in a relationship for around
6 months, but I'm thinking that the time on it is
wearing thin. Just not the right person, I
suppose.....
I started listening to Tori somewhere around my
freshman year of high school, and I started posting to
RDTRN sometime in '99. Boys for Pele was the first
album that I picked up, and I'm pretty certain that
it's still my top choice. I'd say that Precious
Things is my favorite song-- I've screamed the lyrics
in anger, cried through every word, and had amazingly
intense orgasms while listening to that song.
I'm not quite sure what else to say about myself, so
I'll leave it at that...
~Linda(Gyne)~
