Subject: philly
If any of you know the lyrics or who sang the original version of
Philadelphia please let me know. I was listening to that two disc tori
bootleg that my friend sent me (so amazing!! she talks a lot in it and it's
great!!) she sings the song in philadelphia. the lyrics sound so familiar
and i know it's not the bruce springsteen version of it from the movie
because his song was called Streets of Philadelphia. I'm trying to look it
up but of course, all I get are websites from the city. I'm supposed to be
going to se Bowling for Columbine again tonight and I need to read before I
go.

Subject: arghity argh
Hola mes amies,
I've gotten a new roommate, Sarah. Old roommate, Jess, decided to leave
without telling me ("Oh, I couldn't find your number!" she exclaimed,
sincerity dripping away) and now I have a new roommate. Who is. Entirely.
My opposite.
Problems are listed below:
1. She gets up at 7 am. I get up at 10 am.
2. Sarah is the loudest girl on the planet who can't even hear her own
alarm as it rings for five minutes until I, groggily, have to shout her
name. Then she slams the doors. And stomps. And bangs her plastic hair
appliances around. AT SEVEN FUCKING O CLOCK IN THE MORNING!!! She doesn't
even TRY to be quiet.
3. Sarah returns to the room drunk at 1:30 am with two guys, moaning about
how she doesn't "want to sleep alone" and I don't know these 2 guys and I
was ASLEEP and she won't SHUT UP and moans (literally) for half an hour
with fake crying and begging the guys to stay. They leave and she proceeds
to moan to me for 5 minutes before she shuts up, finally realizing that I
am uninterested.
4. Other nights, she and her OTHER guy friends will barg in at 2:30 am and
one guy will ask if I want to listen to a folk song on my computer, I give
permission, and he proceeds to look up porn. I complain. Guy gives me
withered explanation and, the next morning, Sarah says we are not
"compatible".
...No shit, Sherlock.
I've know the girl since Saturday (and its now Thurday) and already I want
a magical volumn button on her so she can be friggin QUIET when I'm trying
to sleep.
...And NOT invite strange guys into the room between the hours of 10 pm - 1
pm.
...And to get a quiet computer. Her computer has a FAN PROBLEM and it
FARTS (or sounds like it) at the highest possible volume. And then it
GROWLS (at the highest possible volume). FOR 10 MINUTES STRAIGHT AT 3
AM!!!!
"Why, Megan!" you might say, "Getting drunk and begging random guys to
sleep with you while your tired roommate's in the room at 2 am is simply
the way a college girl practices her social skills! You're being too
uptight! How foolish of you to expect someone to make an effort to be
quiet during the early hours of the morning! And to not get drunk on the
weekdays. And to keep guys out of the room while you're wearing a filmsy
night gown and have your dirty underwear on the floor next to your bed for
all male eyes to gaze upon. It's perfectly normal!"
...And to you, I say, "Go fuck yourself" for I am a cranky, bitchy girl who
likes to have her sleep uninterrupted, thank you. Call me crazy, but I
expect that sort of thing.
Sarah has mentioned moving out when the rooms open up (at the end of the
week) and I wish the hours would hurry the fuck up. A girl can only go
without sleep for so long before her eyes pop out of her skull and she goes
after her inconsiderate, perky, drunken roommate with sincere malice.
...So! How are all of you? Good? PERKY!?
Oh, fuck a duck. Goodnight.

Subject: bodies and their parts!
Last night I was in the room of a particularly gorgeous guy in my house,
Wes. Not only was he sweaty but he took off his shirt. I've always thought
shoulders were sexy but I favored wrists. Wrists are so sexy and no one else
likes them. I only like them if they're STRONG and BIG though. But damn,
ever since last year, I think shoulders are DEFINITELY the #2 sexy body part
behind wrists. Eyes just go without saying. God, I thought I was gonna lose
my fuckin mind over those shoulders, I LOVE shoulders! They just can't be
small. Big shoulders and wrists. oh yeah. so anyway, my point is...now that
i've lusted over wes's shoulders, what body parts do YOU GUYS find totally
fucking-falling over-weak in the knees-you want to get laid so bad you'd
have sex with that body part alone-SEXY?
aside from that, during wake up this morning I think I took a few years off
of this guy's life. :/ oops. sometimes i get a little scared when I get
woken up. i think he's still recovering.

I think if you look at the causes over the years, statements he's made about
child pornography online, and coming forward and turning himself in, I can
almost believe that he's telling the truth.
It doesn't sound like he was actually persuing any children in the chat
rooms, which would turn up eventually. He's been active in the royal family
charities for decades as well as being a legend in his own right, so I think
people are going to be more forgiving than they are of Jeffrey Jones and
Paul Reubens.. I'm kind of confused about the whole Paul Reubens thing, I
thought that a 15 year old turned them both in to authorities, or is it that
Paul had "classic porno"? If it's just the "classic porno", it's probably
going to be another situation like what happened to Mapplethorpe back when.

Subject: oh my god
I called my dad today because my roommates told me he had called. I was
nervous because he told me to sit down for what he had to tell me and he
sounded really serious. I was freaking out that someone had died like my
grandma on his side or someone else from his side of the family. Anyway, I
should've remembered that my dad is a big kidder because he told me that he
got a letter express delivery today from my aunt. her dad (my grandpa on my
father's side--yes, my family is really confusing) sent me a check for
$5,000. Here I am sitting with a tuition bill for $1100 and a board bill for
$496. Plus, I have tuition, books and board bill for next term plus
outstanding bills. Needless, to say I am SO happy. I'm definitely definitely
efinitely going back east this summer. he lives in CT and my aunt lives in
NJ plus I have other family in NY and my grandma, his ex-wife lives in
Maine. Woohoo! It's another east coast trip!!! I haven't been around to all
those states at one time since the year after I graduated high school in
1997. I'm so happy! YAY!
oh yeah and I saw Bowling for Columbine AGAIN last night, that's the second
time just this year I've seen that movie. It's so wonderful and amazing and
I love Michael Moore. It's a complete emotional roller coaster. This guy in
the theater kept yelling at the screen when they showed Bush, Cheney,
Ashcroft and Clinton. Hahaha. Plus, it was fun going to see it again because
it was a kind of date. woo. he loved the movie too, yay.
woohoo, laundry time. jessica's hhaappppyy!!
