Roxanne asked: "did it ever occur to you that the Sweet the Sting video
is what it is because that's the way Tori wanted it? Maybe it's not Sony
at all; maybe it's Tori."

THAT much, I'm pretty sure of, but it just feels like she copped out on
that one. "eh, let's just grab a few of the gospel singers and jam
instead of doing anything."

I can understand that because of the "ehhh.. it won't get played on MTV
anyway" argument, but it came out really weak to me. I personally
wouldn't want to just diddle around on a music video, but then making
music videos should be, in my opinion, a little more involved than "stand
in front of the camera and perform". the STS video was good in that they
segued from the "jam session" to the "in concert" bit. THAT impressed me.
but it still felt incredibly lacking to me.

but the rest of it? the lack of airplay, (MTV blows, period.. but that's
no excuse to just ignore one of the most important artists that ever
appeared on their channel) the lack of promotion (she tours, and tours
hard. this is very good and I admire the woman for doing it, but is it
enough?), the lack of support.. now this is just my opinion, so feel free
to disagree of course, but.. they're not supporting her like they should
be.

and believe me, I do want to bitch at her about it, or at least discuss
it with her--you know, something along the lines of "dude, let your FANS
help you out if you need it! we could do everything that the record
labels don't!"

I mean, just in this list alone, there are tons of people with all kinds
of different talents (I can do video editing for example) that if we all
banded together and worked for her, we'd probably blow Sony/Epic out of
the freaking water. that's why I even said anything in here. I wanted
opinions on what I was talking about first (to give the board some life
at least), and I wanted people to share their thoughts on the idea of
"maybe we could help her out".
